Xact Radio Review: Revolutionizing the Car Audio Experience  

The Xact Radio vehicle kit attempts to provide everything that one could ever need to use a satellite radio in the car. Xact has clearly put a lot of thought and research into this product, and much of this comes through in some big ways. Short of a few problems, which we’ll get into, this Xact radio vehicle kit is great for all users who like to get their satellite radio fix while driving.  

Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of this high-tech satellite radio vehicle kit.  

Xact Radio Vehicle Kit: The Pros 

1.      The components: The vehicle kit has everything you need, without providing too much. Each kit comes with an Xact radio receiver with a nice looking scrolling flip display that features the channel name, channel number, artist name, and song title. There’s also a stereo line and a mount that allows you to hook your radio to the visor of your vehicle.  

2.      The cost: The best thing about the Xact radio vehicle kit is the amazingly low price. Would you believe the entire kit, with all of its components, can be bought for less than $100? Depending on where you shop, you can even get the whole kit for significantly less than that. Some sites sell it for under $50.  

3.      Simplicity: The Xact radio vehicle kit has the components you need and no more, and it is very easy to set up. I got mine set up in under 20 minutes, and without any kind of technical expertise.  

4.      Pre-set functionality: I’ve used several different types of satellite radio, and the preset functionality of this Xact radio definitely beats the competition. Setting your pre-set channels is easy to figure out, and you can set up to 30 different favorites.  

Xact Radio Vehicle Kit: The Cons 

1.      The display: The display is by-and-large perfectly fine, but I’ve found that it’s very difficult to see when the sun shines into my vehicle at a certain angle. Some types of radio are designed to prevent this problem, but Xact apparently didn’t consider it important enough. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s still a little irritating during those rare times when the sun is shining onto the Xact radio display.  

2.      The tuner: The radio has a rotary dial that is simple and straightforward, but there is a problem with it. Particularly, when you’re trying to go from a low channel to a high channel or vice-versa, it can take quite a bit of effort, which is bad news when you also have to focus on your driving. Of course, this problem is rendered moot when you simply use presets.  

All in all, the pros by far outweigh the cons. I’ve been using this radio for several months now, and I’ve still never run into any difficulties. Even those two cons are not significant problems with my everyday radio listening experience. The radio is sufficiently powerful to pick up all the channels I need, and all the features are nice and attractive. I, for one, am proud to have the Xact radio vehicle kit in my car.
